Meet the artist

Catherine Gomersall

Catherine Gomersall is a Melbourne-based artist working across photography, digital media and contemporary image-making.

Since graduating in photography in 2000, her creative life has been shaped by a deep interest in both art and technology — and in the ways those two worlds can be brought together to create meaningful, emotionally resonant work.

Over the years, her practice has expanded through teaching, research, digital experimentation and self-directed inquiry, resulting in a body of work that explores identity, resilience, transformation and the shifting conditions of contemporary life. Whether intimate or conceptually layered, her artworks are driven by a desire to make images that hold both beauty and depth.

Catherine’s work is informed by lived experience, a strong visual sensibility, and a belief that art can help us make sense of ourselves and the world around us. The pieces she creates are not simply decorative objects, but invitations into feeling, reflection and connection.

For collectors, her work offers a distinctive combination of artistic sensitivity, conceptual strength and contemporary relevance.

Catherine is also the founder of Quartz Ripple, a consultancy helping other creative professionals commercialise their intellectual property and sell online.
